Replace Door to Protect David and Harlan

Hi! My name is Kerstin, my husband Logan and I have two adorable little boys named David and Harlan. Last year by a fluke we discovered David had lead poisoning. We took precautions and sealed off the area of the house we believed the lead came from. It worked! His levels were dropping drastically until July of 2024 when they rose a point and a half. We couldn’t figure out why and our medical team believed it was from needing additional iron (we needed to increase a smidge). At Harlan’s one year check up he also tested positive for lead, just a small amount but NO AMOUNT OF LEAD IS SAFE. This caused us to go on an even bigger testing spree to discover the source and thankfully we found it; it was the original front door of our house that is over 100 years old. We are not offfically renters and our landlord is “family” and he does not seem concerned with the situation. We are needing to replace our front door as quickly as possible to make our home safer for our children. Our family does not need an extravagant front door, just something that will not poison my babies. Anything helps and we appreciate you reading!
