Replace Motorhome Lost to Fire- Volunteer, Leanne

Open Door's long-time volunteer Leanne's motor home caught on fire on 01/11/2021 around 3pm. Her 3 dogs were inside and their whole lives. They lost everything from clothes, shoes, hygiene, blankets, food and their place to live for half a decade. They also sadly lost 2 of the dogs in the fire, and the 3rd is fighting for his life at the emergency vet clinic.

While family is spreading the word to raise funds for immediate needs and vet bills, we at Open Door are hoping to raise funds to purchase a new camper/motorhome for Leanne and her fiancée Mike. As of now, we're hoping to raise $8000 to get them into a stable motorhome that will last them for years. 

Open Door HousingWorks advocates for our homeless community and works to provide shelter and resources for the Forest Grove/Hillsboro/Cornelius area. Leanne has volunteered for our homeless shelter for several years and considers Open Door to be a secondary home. We care for her and Mike greatly and want to see this need taken care of as soon as we can. As was stated by her family, "they care about giving back to the community, now we’re hoping the community can help give back to them."
