Replace Pez's Electrical Panel

My friends call me Pez. Online and with friends, I'm known for my wacky antics and analysis of film and TV costumes. Unfortunately, my home has some wacky antics, too. After a long year wrestling with health problems and house problems, including major plumbing issues, HVAC replacement, and asbestos mitigation, I hit my limits physically and financially. I wish I could say the same for my house. Earlier this month, an emergency visit from an electrician revealed that my electrical panel is somewhere between two weeks and two months of the end of its life, including a significant risk of fire.

I am actively pursuing every option I have to replace the electrical panel, but I've reached the point where I just need help. The quotes I've received for replacing the panel to date range from $6,000 to $10,000 up front. The costs are high because they need to bring service to my home up to code, including installing electrical grounding to the house and replacing an unsafe electrical service line on the exterior.

I know that owning a home isn't something that's available to everyone, and I'm luckier than most to be able to do so. I'm asking for help so that I can keep that home for myself and my cats, and as a safe place for the people I love who may need somewhere to go. I hope that by asking for help, I will be in a better position to help others around me when they need support, too.

Any assistance I receive through this GoFundMe will go toward the urgent replacement of my electrical panel and bringing the electrical service to my house up to code to keep myself, my cats, and my neighbors safe. If there are any funds left over after the panel has been replaced, I will use the remainder for other necessary repairs to keep my home safe and standing.
