Replace stolen car sold at auction by police

In Nov my car was stolen from my home, the thieves sold it on Facebook. After a week i called the impound and they said its been recovered for 2 days. I wasnt notified at all. Because the MPD lot was full, they towed my car to Davenport towing. I had to pay for towing, storage and to have my car rekeyed. They emptied everything out of my car, I had tools and personal items that were removed. Also I had to get my window replaced. And at that time, I had to borrow money from people because of this unexpected event.

January 18, 2024 my vehicle was stolen again so I filed a police report. After several days, I called the precinct to find out who is assigned to my case, because I haven't received a call. We finally talked, he told me that I don't have to call him that he will call me once my car is recovered, I said ok. Weeks went by, so I called again and he told me that I don't have to call and that I'll be the 1st to know once my car is found. I tried to explain to him that ive been through this before, so I asked what is he doing to find my car and he said I'm not his only case and that they are short staffed. So I stopped calling for awhile. April 23 2024, I woke up with a gut feeling about my car so I called the precinct and spoke with someone and he told me that my car has been recovered since February. I was excited and mad. I called everybody and said "they found my car!!!" Then detective that was assigned called minutes later and told me that they JUST found my car. I told him that someone else told me it was found in February, so he changed the subject and said that i can go pick it up. I asked him is anything wrong with it? Can i drive off? He said he didn't know the details. So I called impound and they told me that my car was sold to the AUCTION last week. I felt devastated. I called the detective back and I told him that my car was sold, he held the phone for awhile and said "I'm sorry about that". I've been waiting for months and the entire time, they had my car and NEVER notified me, not once. I've had major issues getting to work and I was terminated. Ive had classes every week all the way up til March and I had to pay for rides and the entire time, they knew where my car was at. When I asked the detective what am I supposed to do now? he said "the car was partially stripped anyway"... I would've gotten all that fixed. I feel like they robbed me as bad as the car thieves did.
