Replace Stolen Donations for Refugee Families

Hi friends! I'm fundraising on behalf of Manizha, an Afghan-American friend here in the city who has been volunteering all of her time since Kabul fell to helping Afghan families as they resettle here in the DMV area.

When I say all of her time, I mean ALL. Her days are spent driving her husband's big army-green pickup truck back and forth connecting with families, learning their individual needs, finding and picking up donations, and delivering them. When she can't find the right item, she often pays out of her own pocket.

This past weekend, the trailer where Manizha keeps carefully collected/curated donations for specific families was stolen. That means dozens of families lost the donations they were counting on, and Manizha lost her ability to store future donations as well. Furniture, clothes, shoes, rugs, lightbulbs, sewing machines, toys, etc were all lost.

We're trying to raise 7K ASAP to replace each of the items needed by the families that she was preparing to deliver this week as well as to purchase a new trailer for storage.
