Replace Troop 446's stolen ElectronicFest trailer
Donation protected
Hello! Many of you know that Troop 446, chartered by Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in Scottsdale, has been hosting a monthly electronic recycling event for many years now. This event not only benefits our community by taking donations of used electronics and keeping them out of the landfill by auctioning them back to the community, but the scouts also use the money raised to pay for scouting actives such as summer camp and annual dues. Some scouts would not be able to attend summer camp if it were not for the monies raised during our monthly electronicfests.
Sadly, this past weekend, One of our troop trailers was stolen from the parking lot of The Pavilions where we stage our event. Inside the trailer, we had all our supplies used to stage the electronics as well as valuable electronics we planned to sell as well as our cash box with cash inside. The trailer was securely locked as it is every month but this time, someone cut all the wheel locks and made way with our trailer and goods. This was obviously a gut punch for the Troop but in true Scout form, the boys organized piles of electronics on the ground and proceeded with the auction. We plan to proceed every month however, without this trailer, it makes transporting, staging and storing much more difficult. We need to replace the trailer.
We are hoping that through the generosity of our community, we can raise funds to replace our trailer. Our scouts do so much for our community, locally and globally. In our own OLPH community, dozens of Eagle Scout projects have benefited the Church, school and local non-profits. Let's help encourage them to know that when bad things happen, good can still shine through.
If by chance our trailer is recovered, (police report was filed) we will immediately refund all donations.
Thank you for your generosity!
Sincerely,
Scouts and leaders of Troop 446
