Repair van so cat rescue work can continue

Tax deductible
My van was severely damaged a few days ago in a hit and run.  It was rendered un driveable,  (no injuries thankfully).  The driver's door was damaged so badly it could not be saved,  and most importantly,  the transmission is badly damaged and needs replacement. There are minor related parts that need work.  It is a 2010 Ford Transit Connect, and has been very reliable and the perfect vehicle for this work!

We weighed doing the work, vs replacing it.  We don't have the money to do either! We need a van  in order to transport cat traps, cages, supplies and equipment, and continue the daily work.

We respond to calls from the public and other rescues, to humanely trap cats,  who need spay-neuter, are injured, and those at-risk from threats of harm.  We get them the medical they need, and then locate appropriate safe placements for them, often out of the immediate area.  We can use volunteer's car for simply transporting a cat, but that is the limit.

When we help tame cats, we are able to transfer them to local adoption venues with trusted partners.  Most of the cats we work with are  feral/under socialized.  After the medical treatment, we  find stable homes for them to live out their lives in safely, with caretakers. We find farms, community gardens, horse stables, wineries, or backyards of people who want to help these cats.

This requires transporting the cats, and all the equipment: cages, shelving, bedding, and supplies, to set them up for their adaption period of several weeks. After their adaption,   they are released at their new forever homes. Attached are some pictures of cats we've helped, and pic of some relocation set ups (and one adopter of four for her family farm).

We have lots of pictures, of cats ,of projects, and will gladly forward to anyone interested in seeing more of what we do.

The total of the necessary work to get the van safely operating is estimated to be $3,500.
We greatly appreciate all donations, large and small.

Many thanks to all.
