Replacing Eileen’s items.

Donation protected
On Friday 30th November at 9pm I received a phone call from the Metropolitan Police to say that not only had there been a burglary at my mothers house, but that it had been taken apart. The house was ransacked and everything of any value has gone; some cash that she kept in the house, her jewellery including her engagement, eternity and wedding rings and her mothers rings. She is 84 years old and had been married to my father for 60 years when he passed away in 2015. She has been hardworking all of her life and should be able to enjoy her last days but these theiving scumbags have destroyed that for her.

In one respect I am thankful that she wasn’t home as god knows what they would have done to her if she had been in the house, however the fact that she wasn’t home is why I now appeal to anyone who may have a few pence to spare. Mum fell and broke her hip in September and is currently still being looked after by the NHS, as a consequence, because the house had been empty for more than 30 days it makes her insurance invalid.

I know we can’t replace the sentimental value of the items lost, and I am trawelling the local cash converters etc to try and find them, but I would like to be able to give mum something back to show that not everyone in this world is heartless.

Thank you for reading.
