Replacing Stolen money for Veterans
Donation protected
On March 25th Medal of Honor recipient Don Ballard was robbed of cash and items equaling more than $100,000. On Medal of Honor weekend while he was in DC presenting Awards to an extraordinary citizen; another kind of citizen broke into his business stole $50,000 and cash destined for the National Combat Medical Memorial and Youth Education Center a 501c3 non-profit organization. Other items stolen include firearms, tools, and Thousands of dollars of personal items. He is in the process of moving and they were using the back offices of the Business to store some of they're most prized possessions. Colonel Ballard's Medal of Honor ring, not to mention money for the National Combat Medical Memorial and Youth Education Center(501c3). A program dedicated to veterans, military and their families, all of which took several months to raise. They are asking for anyone that can help provide information to come forward. Much of what is missing Is also personal gifts given to the family throughout the years that can never be replaced. The Ballard family is disappointed something like this would happen not only to an American hero who has never stopped helping others a day in his life, but especially horrible that it was on Medal of Honor day, a day to honor him and pay respect to the sacrifices of the few who wear the blue cloth and gold Medal that hangs so heavily on their hearts. Most likely, if I asked Colonel Ballard would have given anything including the shirt off his back to help someone in need. It is disappointing that someone had to steal. When all they had to do was ask.
