Replant Trees Lost From Nashville's Tornado
Donation protected
Hi, friends. I'm setting up this page on behalf of my friend, Micah P. who owned and operated a local landscaping company, Maples & Bloom for 6 years. He is an East Nashville resident and was affected by the devastating tornadoes that struck Nashville (and surrounding areas) on March 3rd.
In the aftermath of destruction, entire neighborhoods have been leveled, uprooting entire tree lines that surrounded them.
Though damages are still being surveyed and assessed, it is unmistakable by the photos and videos he provided that trees will need to be planted to help restore all of the fallen or displaced trees carried by the tornadoes.
He is actively leading the charge of a tree restoration grassroots project to help restore all of the trees lost in his neighborhood and extending it further to help others as well.
We call on your support to help us reforest and restore this beautiful city.
Micah, resident in East Nashville had this to say about the damage he was surveying within a few short days of the incident:
"My house has some damage but we barely and I mean barely escaped the worst of it. The tornado passed right above our house. It was probably the most scared I’ve been in a storm...Our neighborhood looks like a war zone and people have totally lost everything.
Thousands of trees are destroyed. Maybe tens of thousands... I’m raising $ to plant trees to help make our city beautiful again. My street alone (and it’s a short street) has lost at least 200-300 trees. Almost. every single tree.”
What the money will be going toward.
Donations will support supplies needed to purchase, transport and replant the trees. Here are some examples but may be subject to change as needed to serve the cause.
- Seeds, trees, soil, shovels, etc
- Machinery and tools to extract and haul fallen trees
- Machinery and powered tools to haul supplies and trees
- Transportation costs
- Basic water and snacks for any volunteers
Help us to plant new seeds of hope and recovery for all affected.
As you know, restoration after a natural disaster isn’t needed just days or weeks after the incident. It sometimes takes years. So if you are coming across this a little while after the incident, know that your support will be much appreciated at any phase of this project.
Nashville’s community is hurting but feeling the support from outside sources really helps the arduous recovery process bearable.
We thank you SO MUCH for your support!!
