Requesting aid to repair Abi's bedroom

Hi -

My name is Andrea Edelman. Many of you knew my long-time friend and housemate, Abi Rice. Many of you have heard of her untimely and unexpected passing. Thank you to everyone who has offered sympathy and comfort during this time. We all still miss her terribly.

I don't want to do this at all, but I need help repairing and repainting three rooms and the hallway/foyer. The worst damage is water damage from many hours around the time of Abi's passing*. There is water damage in both bedrooms, the bathroom, and hall/foyer between these rooms. The damage includes ceilings, walls and floors.

I need money to pay for a flooring specialist to clean, sand, and refinish both bedroom floors.** I need paint and supplies to repaint both bedrooms, the bathroom, and the foyer.

We've already gotten bids for wooden floor repair and have chosen a company. All that's left is lining up financials, purchasing painting supplies, and scheduling the flooring company to come in when we're done painting.

Breakdown of expected costs:

$3,300: Floor repair and refinishing

$1,700: Paint, drywall repair, other painting supplies, cleaning with bleach

Other details:

* Hot water was left running in the bathroom from Wednesday until Friday. Abi was found in her bedroom. Steam from the hot water filled the bedrooms, bathroom, and hallway. The water condensed on the ceiling and walls. Some of the paint has separated due to the heat of the steam. Water and paint-filled water has dripped everywhere.

** The foyer floor didn't appear to take much damage at all, and the bath has a tile floor.
