Requiem for Eliseo Jesus Robledo

Donation protected
Hello, our beloved son, brother, husband Eliseo Jesus Robledo passed away on Tuesday, October 18th, 2022 in a car accident on Angeles Crest Hwy (details can be viewed here). He was 46 years old and is survived by his wife Anna, his mother Olivia, his sisters Xochitl and Leticia, his brother Jonas J. and his extended family which includes many people he chose.

This was a complete shock to his family and friends. We all adore him and cannot yet picture how we can continue our lives. We are slowly beginning to pick up the pieces.

Eliseo spent most of the last twelve years of his life at an ashram, Yogaville, where he immersed himself in a life of service, spiritual practices, and play with his friends that became family. It was on this journey that he met his wife, Anna, and they happily began their life together in the sweetness of the Virginia countryside. His cooking, care, computer skills, companionship, farming, and painting skills were highly sought after within the community that cherished and loved him. Eliseo was a fantastic artist. I hope that you are as impacted by his works as I am. I can see him in every piece. Not only is his oeuvre visually pleasing, but it is a view of what his inside world must have been like.

If you ever met Eliseo then most likely you love him. He was a person of high moral fiber, and he was incredibly empathetic. He sparkled and made your days better. The force was strong with him. He had a passion for justice and dedicated his life to family, friends, and nature. Thinking of him laughing right now fills me with joy.

Eliseo was a conduit of worldly and oftentimes, other-worldly information, always eager to reveal an uncanny spiritual experience or a magical connection with a person, place, or thing - and he did so because he thrived on sharing the extraordinary with us. He saw the world through his own lens, and if you were brave and willing, he was always eager to give you a peek.

Many people have described him as a "whisperer" or "beyond this world." I believe this is because Eliseo maintained his new mind fascination, wonder, and respect for the natural world that most of us (myself included) lose touch with as we grow older. He did not compromise his tenets and stayed true to the love of humanity and all living beings. He believed God is love and approached life with a leap of faith.

Along with his fondness for spiritualism, Eliseo was also a pop-culture enthusiast who spent long hours appreciating cinema, video games, and comic books. He would love to theorize how the next groundbreaking technology would improve or alter our lives. He never let go of his child-like fascination with all things cool; because of this, he connected instantly with the children who surrounded him. The children loved Tio Eliseo.

Growing up with Eliseo was a fantasy, and he kept you in it. He was more than any brother or sister could hope for. His imagination filled our worlds with detail and vivid color. He was Solomon Grunde; he was ET; he was my very best dungeon-crawling party member. He was so loving and stubborn, and he loved you stubbornly. Another skill he was born with and continued to foster was meeting you at your level. Whether you be beast, baby, great Tia or Tio, or who knows what, it did not matter. Eliseo would meet you at your level, look at and hear you without judgment.

He was a powerful human being, strong willed and often experienced life outside of his comfort zone. He constantly challenged convention and broke boundaries in pursuit of gaining a more profound knowledge of himself and his own potential, though he was always in touch with his roots. Firmly grounded and self aware, he was proud of his Native American ancestry, his Mexican heritage, and being a strong proponent of social justice, Eliseo never lost sight of his Chicano spirit.
