Rescue and Restore Hope to Zabmulkura, Ghana

My name is Stella Ard and I am a senior at North Salem High School. A few weeks ago, I spent a week shadowing a Senior Health Economist at the World Bank in Washington DC. While I was there, my mentor connected me with a man she met while travelling in Ghana. He is the only formally educated person in his village. After earning a college degree in public health, he became the chief of his village. In his marginalized community, women may be accused of witchcraft and banished to witch camps if a family member falls ill, and the closest hospital is 20km away, serving over 20,000 people from 100 villages. Chief Tidow made it his goal to empower his community through education. He founded an NGO, called Rescue and Restore Hope, and is doing just that. For my OPTIONS project, I am currently raising money for Chief Tidow’s NGO. With the funds he has raised from this organization, Chief Tidow built a pavillion in which 123 girls and 112 boys are receiving an education. he has also provided health screenings in the area. However, there is much more work to be done. His current initiatives include building a permanent structure for schooling children and establishing a health clinic.
Contact me at my email [email redacted], visit the NGO’s website, Rescue and Restore Hope, or watch Tidow's Documentary on Health in Zambulkura, for more information.
Thank you for your support!
