Rescue Bunny, Bullet, Needs Surgery
Donation protected
Rescue bunny, Bullet, desperately needs surgery to remove large abscesses from his stomach and chest.
His vet, Dr. Stern of Exotic Pet Clinic of Santa Cruz, has told us the sooner the better as she's worried that the infection can be getting into his blood system. We have him on antibiotics as we try to raise the funds. Normally, abscesses can be cut and drained, but due to such a large area the Dr. Stern says she will need to remove it as if it was a tumor instead.
Bullet and his brother Silver were rescued by Clover Hop Bunny Friends from a life in a hutch outside where they were exposed to the elements and predators. They had never been touched or held their first 4 months of life so they were extremely fearful of humans and it was even hard at the vets office they were so scared and skittish.
They were taken into the vets right away as they were very sick with ear mites, eye infections, upper respiratory infections and points on their back teeth. They did not even know what hay was as they had never been given it. The boys had bite wounds as they had been left together instead of separated as they should have been at that age. Boy bunnies start fighting as they mature and can really hurt each other.
Clover Hop Bunny Friends and their fosters nursed them back to health and patiently socialized them. Bullet has a bunwife named Penelope, and together they have a home waiting for them. The plan was they were going to move in with their forever family at the end of November. Please help save Bullet's life so he can go on to his forever home.
