Please donate to Hooluana Friends so that we can help up to 78 contaminated Hooluana homes in Lihue, Hawaii, get their plumbing systems replaced. The low/mid income homeowners can not afford to replace their plumbing systems ($80,000 copper system). The builder has known about the microbial contamination problem for nearly three years, but has not permanently fixed one single home. Many residents are suffering from chronic eye, ear, skin, throat, and lung infections. Some pets have ear or skin infections too. 

The  U.S. Environmental Protection Agency determined that the municipal source water is sanitary and of very good quality. The microbial contamination problem exisits only in the DR Horton built Hooluana homes. Half of the Hooluana homes (78/151) are contaminated. The home builder, D.R. Horton, is the largest residential home builder in the USA . They have plentiful financial resources, yet refuse to replace the contaminated plumbing systems. Consequently, the homeowners must initiate a costly group legal action (arbitration), to force the responsible parties to fund the replacement of the microbially contaminated plumbing systems.
