Rescue Our Oasis: Battling Wind Farm Destruction

Donation protected

In the heart of the verdant countryside lies the quaint towns of the Burin Peninsula and Newfoundland, picturesque havens where community spirit thrives amidst lush fields, protected ecosystems and habitats, ocean views and rolling hills. However, this idyllic landscape is threatened by an unexpected source – the relentless march of industrial wind farms.

While we wholeheartedly support the transition to green energy, it’s essential to acknowledge that Newfoundland is already a global leader, with over 90% of its energy coming from clean hydroelectric sources. However, the proposed wind turbines for the Burin Peninsula serve a different purpose altogether – the wind turbines will create hydrogen and ammonia production destined for Germany. This endeavour threatens to devastate the region’s precious wetlands, bogs, and vital habitats for protected animal and plant species.

It’s baffling that such projects would be approved, especially considering these areas are marked as protected by the government of Newfoundland. The destruction of these ecosystems will release carbon dioxide into the atmosphere and rob us of the clean oxygen these areas now provide. Furthermore, the transportation and construction processes would only exacerbate carbon emissions by shipping these products overseas.

We must speak out against this unnecessary destruction and advocate for sustainable solutions honouring our environment and our commitment to green energy.

Once heralded as a beacon of renewable energy, these 800-foot towering turbines threaten to loom ominously over our beloved towns, casting shadows of doubt and despair where our pristine environment, culture and way of life are endangered. Such sprawling installations would mar the rare vistas, and the ceaseless hum of machinery would shatter the tranquillity that now enveloped our homeland.

But the people of the Burin Peninsula refuse to surrender their sanctuary without a fight. We stand united in our resolve to preserve our town and protect our environment for future generations. Together, we can halt the encroaching devastation and reclaim our once-vibrant community.

With your support, we can launch a robust campaign to oppose further wind farm expansion and advocate for sustainable alternatives. Every donation brings us one step closer to safeguarding our home and preserving the natural beauty that defines the Burin Peninsula.

The primary beneficiaries of these wind farms will be the obscenely wealthy wind companies and the foreign countries like China, Korea and Germany.

Join us in our quest to rescue our oasis from the brink of destruction. Together, we can turn the tide and ensure that the winds of change blow in favour of our beloved towns across our beautiful peninsula, which were once rich fishing grounds off the Grand Banks of Newfoundland. Your contribution today will make a difference tomorrow – let’s stand firm and save the Burin Peninsula from environmental ruin.

The funds will purchase educational and awareness materials and cover legal fees for hiring a lawyer to protect our homeland.
