Rescue Shelter for Wolf Dogs
Donation protected
Crone Wolf Medicine is licensed with PACFA through the state of Colorado, Rescue/Shelter for Wolf Dogs that have been surrendered to get the care and love that they need and deserve. It is run by Charlene Wolfe in Saguache County in Southern Colorado. At this point it is filled to capacity with 34 Wolf Dog rescues. Her partner in this endeavor passed away 18 months ago. She is now on her own both financially and labor wise. There is much that needs to be done before next Winter. Though we are just now entering summer the work is monumental. While she appreciates help from volunteers when they are available, what is most necessary at this point is financial help. At this point Crone Wolf Medicine is asking for gifts of any amount to fund the acquisition of materials for building of new dog houses (they destroy their Igloos), acquiring supplies and food in preparation and storage for next Winter, and maintenence/repairs including creating new wind barriers around their pens as this past Winter was extremely harsh and really took a toll on pretty much everything.
At this point, although she has done well with spays and neuter on her own, there are 3 females and 6 males that still need this procedure. These animals are never sold and are never bred. Although, if there are responsible people living in a legal area with Wolf Dog experience, enough land, proper enclosure, and consideration of their character and nature they can be adopted. She simply asks that the adopter visit the shelter for at least a week and spend time with the dog to ensure that their character matches the character and nature of the dog. Charlene is also looking for a paid Maintenance Person to live on site full-time.
Our goal is $4,500, every little bit counts and there is immense gratitude for any gifts received.
