Rescue street dogs from Oman
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Isabel. I have lived in the Middle East, Sultanate of Oman, for 10 years. End of 2022, the excessive street-dog population (post-COVID), was being regulated by the Royal Police force by starting to shoot off dogs that roamed the streets, by the thousands. A pack of over 40 dogs (many puppies) we have been feeding and watering over the years came under attack. We were able to save around 20 dogs by catching them and kept them for over 8 months now in our back garden, kitchen and some inside the house.
I have tried to find in Oman foster homes, and/or adoption within the country, with little result: the locals are not used to adopting dogs, the expats are not prepared to take them back.
The only solution to give the 20 dogs a reasonable chance for a humane treatment and finally a loving home, is to bring them with us to Portugal, where I am from, and foster them until we can find a final home for each of them, which can take years.
I need financial help to bear the cost needed to fly the animals to Europe: spaying, vaccinating, rabies serological certificate, cages, flights, in-country transport, and preparation of temporary housing until final homes are found.
My stay in Oman will conclude by April 2024, until then I need to organize a series of flights to bring all the animals over, starting in some months, when they are prepared with vaccines and serological tests.
Please help me with donations, it will all be spent on the future and well-being of the animals.
