Donation protected
Hi, my name is Helen and I am raising funds for Shawn Hocevar whose house caught on fire on Sunday December 3rd. 13 cats are dead, 5 cats have not been found, 6 cats are looking for homes, and 2 cats are currently at the emergency vet. Funds raised will go towards bills, personal belongings, and any other expenses. *She did not have renters insurance.*

Greetings Everyone ~

Two of the 5 missing kitties have been captured. They both look ok physically but I desperately need to get them to the vet to make sure they aren't suffering any hidden injuries or health issues. I am still searching every morning and every night for the other 3 that are still missing and I will never stop until I find them all

My 2 personal kitties, Isabelle and Petey have recovered and Petey has finished her 3 week round of steroids but she needs to go back to vet for x-rays so they can make sure the treatment was successful...she suffered some very significant smoke inhalation. The two 6 month old babies are doing well...one who had the bacterial infection was given the same round of meds as my Isabelle and she seems to have recovered as well

To date, I have had vet bills that are close to $2000.00, the breaking down of my car cost $1445.00 and our temporary housing with move-in and deposits was $3300.00...this has completely drained me... and I now have to pay rent again on January 7th 2024 in order to keep a roof over our heads, and we are $1200.00 short in being able to do so even after my paycheck this coming week.
I really need your help everybody in order to keep this roof over our head, to get Petey to the vet for her x-rays and the 2 missing kitties that were found in to the vet as well.

Please, please, please, if you can help in anyway and consider donating to the gofundme that was set up for us to get temporary housing and for vet bills we would all be so grateful ❤
If we can get your help to get thru this month I will be able to get us thru the next 4 to 6 months until our house is renovated. Please help...the kitties and I really need you!

Thank you to everyone who has donated so far...your kindness and support are appreciated more than you can ever know!!

Good Morning Everyone ~

The five kitties that were missing are still missing but there have been spottings of two of them. Traps were set Saturday but no luck yet except for a kitty that got trapped in one which wasn't mine. Obviously due to the inclement weather, this is on hold until it clears up.

Of the 8 that were able to be saved from the fire, a brother and his 2 sisters are at a fellow rescuers and are recovering slowly day by day. One of those 3 and one of my personal cats, who had to go to emergency vet for 24 hour oxygenation and treatment are recovering and getting better day by day, but my personal cat does have to go back to vet next week for x-rays and a checkup to make sure she is improving.

The other 5 that were saved have, and are now all experiencing illnesses due to the after effects of this tragedy. One of them, my other personal cat Isabelle, has been to the vet and has a bacterial infection for which she has been treated. The other 3, which includes the two 6 month old babies really need to go to the vet as they are showing signs over the past two days of the same symptoms. To top everything off, on the way to the vet last Sunday with my Isabelle, my car broke down and had to be towed to a mechanic to get fixed...that bill, which was $1445.00 in the end, along with the expense of getting us all a place to live has now completely wiped us out. I had to get my car fixed otherwise there was no way for me to get to work or back and forth to the vet.

We really need your help here in order to get these other 3 babies to the vet immediately! Please Please Please consider donating to the gofundme that was set up for the vet bills I desperately need your help as I cannot lose any more babies to this tragedy!!

We also are in need of supplies as 90% of what I had was destroyed in the fire, including a ton of wet food, 14 cat trees and all pet carriers. Pine pellets and Friskies wet cat food are the biggest need right now. Please help us if you can I really need to get these babies to the vet!! Thank you ~ Shawn
