Rescue Vet Bill Help!!!!

Tax deductible
Our new cover boy is "Not Kevin" aka Archie.   This poor boy was found outside by a good Samaritan beaten up and hungry.  She noticed "Not Kevin"  had some severe wounds and emailed us for help.  We found a foster for him and got him into the vet yesterday.  Well it turns out that "Not Kevin" had a mouthful of bad teeth a large carcinoma in his ear, FIV positive and sores all over his skin.   Dr. Kip is lovingly calling him Ro's boyfriend LOL they are surely two peas in a pod.  Not Kevin had the carcinoma removed from his ear and the bad teeth taken out yesterday and is on a host of medications.  The boy eats like a horse and is now doing well.

Your donations to FRA help us save cats/kittens like "Not Kevin" and Ro and we thank you so very much!!!

Our previous cover girl was Ro.  Ro was found abandoned in the street bleeding and in rough shape by Animal Control.  Her ears were bloody and torn up, she was suffering from Pyometra, which is an infection in the uterus of an unspayed female that if untreated results in death, the shelter immediately did her spay and gave her antibiotics but further vetting was needed and our rescue pulled her from the shelter. Rona has had to have surgery to remove tumors and polyps from her ears because she was in such pain she would endlessly rub her head and ears until they bled profusely and yesterday she has had to have a dental to remove bad teeth and a tumor on her tongue that was causing this poor girl to be in pain as she ate.  Rona's total vet bills alone have cost our small rescue upwards of $1240 between 3 vets, I have attached yesterdays and she is just one cat.    Rona is typical of the cats we help rescue from our local shelter and the streets of Baltimore, they are in bad shape, their kittens are in bad shape with some being literally on deaths door when they come in.  We have amazing volunteers who give endlessly not just of their time but their own money for supplies and towards vetting of their fosters.

Since April we have taken in several cats in dire need of expensive vetting on top of the 672 cats/kittens we have taken in during that short period of time.  Until the past few months no one was open for spay/neuter due to the pandemic and the number of kittens and cats abandoned outside grew tremendously.  We are still getting pleas for help every day.  This months vet bill balance is $3845 and spay/neuter day is Thursday for 16 cats/kittens which will add an additional $1300-$1500 to our total.  Our monthly expenses for vaccines, disease testing, dewormers and antibiotics have been thousands per month on top of the $4,000 plus in vetting each month.

We haven't done a GFM for Vet bills in quite a long time and somehow we have managed to stay on top of things but the pandemic for many small rescues has been hard.  Adoption events, fundraising events are all put on hold unless they are virtual.  In person events raise thousands to put towards the supplies and vetting it takes for rescues to keep their heads above water.  Supporters have been wonderful and we are so thankful for them each and every day.  We could not be here without you.
