I met my chihuahua wheezy 6 yrs ago, I was enjoying my day when I saw a little chihuahua looking at me through a fence. I told her hi and she put her paw through the fence to touch me. She was hungry so I gave her some food but instead of eating it she took the nugget and ran away and that’s when I realized she was saving it for her babies. I fed her every day I saw her including her babies due to lack of care from her owners unfortunately. Wheezy knew I was her only chance so at-least once a week she found a way to come over and take her babies by mouth as well. I knew she was smart and the greatest mother by wanting to give her babies the best chance to survive. Eventually her owner didn’t like it as she sold her pups for money but did nothing to take care of them, which resulted in wheezy being chained up to a chain so heavy she could barely keep her head up. (I cut it off her)
The winter freeze storm in Texas (2021) was my last straw. I was called abruptly that wheezy came looking for me with her puppies in desperation to be saved. She did not let anyone touch her because she was guarding her frozen babies that passed away unfortunately. I arrived as fast as I could and when I saw her half frozen (she had frostbite) guarding her deceased babies underneath her to keep them warm my heart dropped. I put her in my car, I told her she’d never have to live that life again and the rest was history.
Unfortunately Wheezy is in bad health now. I have taken her to two vets and she has been diagnosed with pyometra.
Recommended treatment is surgery to remove her Uterus but unfortunately I cannot afford it as I’ve already spent over $500 just to get a diagnosis and two antibiotic shots that are a 50/50 chance. Even if she doesn’t need surgery treatment antibiotic plan is 7 days $180 each day. Surgery is $400 if she doesn’t get better by tomorrow night which doesn’t include after care antibiotics and treatment plan. I’m at my last reserve and so is Wheezy. I pray to God she gains her health back, but she needs surgery. My dear friends of the world today I ask and pray for your help to save Wheezy. She is such a loving dog, she was the greatest mom to her puppies and I know if the tables were turned and Wheezy was me? She would’ve done anything and everything to save me. The only regret I have in life is not trying hard enough for the people and things I love.
It’s with great humility I’ve come to ask for the help of friends all over the world as I still believe this world has much more kind people than unkind.
Any amount helps even $1, sharing this post and most importantly keeping my beautiful Wheezy in your prayers. She does not deserve this as so many beautiful animals before her and the ones who might come after. I ask of you to put yourself in her shoes, I’m extremely heartbroken but I have faith this will help. Our God is a great God and can make anything happen, thank you so much for helping Wheezy.
