Rescue Yousra's Sick Dad: Rebuild His Life and Health (Gaza)

I am Yousra, a Palestinian living in Toronto, Canada and today I come to you with a heavy heart, filled with profound sadness, seeking your help. My father Talal Abbud is trapped in Gaza, and I desperately need your assistance to bring him out and support him during this perilous time.

The pain of our separation has weighed heavily on me for six long years as I wait for the paperwork that will allow us to be together again. The situation in Gaza has only grown more dire, endangering my elderly father's life. With each passing day, his health deteriorates further due to the scarcity of food and medications. We lost our home as it was destroyed during the war, which has not only taken away our physical shelter but also robbed us of cherished memories. Additionally, my dad lost three members of his family—his uncle, his aunt, and his cousin—adding to our grief and hardship.

My father has been forced to flee multiple times, seeking refuge in Khan Younes, then Mawasy, and now Rafah, where he shares a tent with my uncle's family and another family. The cost of a tent there is exorbitant, and we simply cannot afford it. It's a desperate situation, and I am reaching out to you with an urgent plea for help.

I've tried everything I can to bring my father to safety and get him out of Gaza, even falling victim to scams in my desperation and losing all our money. But I refuse to give up. I am his only hope, and I am determined to do whatever it takes to ensure his well-being.

Please, I implore you to understand the urgency of our situation and to lend us your support. Your assistance in covering the expenses for his survival, travel, and essential needs in Gaza is crucial. I've started a GoFundMe campaign with the goal of raising USD $30,000 to facilitate his evacuation and provide for his necessities. •During his time waiting to leave Gaza, my goal is to obtain either a tent or a rental space for him that will cost USD 1700/per month.

• A total of USD 12000 has been allocated to cover the expenses associated with obtaining permits to leave Gaza, as well as crossing fees at Rafah, at the Egypt-Gaza border.

• A total of USD 3000 will be used to cover GoFundMe's transaction fees (2.9% plus $0.30 per donation).

• An estimated USD $5000 will be sufficient to cover the basic needs of my father in Egypt, including accommodation, food, and medication (highlighting that he requires three different medications), along with other essentials, for a couple of months.

• The estimated cost of travel and the visa application from Cairo to Canada/Europe is USD $3000.

•The monthly living expenses total approximately USD $2,000, which is expected to sustain him for a couple of months until he moves to live with my brothers.

• Around $20,000 will be allocated to cover hospital fees, two surgeries, medication costs, and the wages for a nurse to care for my father for a couple of months.
