Rescue Danielle

Danielle Muscato, a civil rights activist who regularly attends protests for Black Lives Matter and other causes, has been arrested in Tennessee. She was targeted on a traffic stop due to being trans, and charged with manufacturing and intent to distribute, among other things, because she travels with cooking equipment to cook for her friends.

Danielle is being held in solitary confinement, and she is not regularly getting her critical heart medication. She has reported that there are transphobic officers who have access to her and we who are coordinating her care are very concerned about her remaining in this situation any longer than absolutely necessary.

At this time, we need to raise $55,000 to have her released, and that money will go directly to the court. If she is released and cleared of the charges, the money will be returned to her. Anything raised that doesn't go to her legal fees or bail will be donated back to transgender and Black Lives Matter causes and/or used to further Danielle's activist work in those areas.

If you are able to make a donation, please do so! We only need 550 people to give $100 each or 1100 people to give $50 each to raise the entire amount! Every donation helps! If you can't donate, please share or spread the word about this cause. Danielle has done a lot of good in the world and she will be able to do so much more once she is released. Fund Transparency Information: My name is Noelle George and I have set up this GoFundMe account - I am a good friend of Danielle's and she was visiting me in Texas before driving home through Tennessee. I will be withdrawing the funds and writing a check to Danielle's lawyer for $7,500. If the lawyer can get the charges reduced, the amount needed for this fundraiser will be reduced. Additional funds will be used for Danielle's bail, and then given to Danielle for additional legal fees and then distribution to any charities selected. I have run multiple nonprofits and while these funds aren't tax deductible, I will be responsible for ensuring they are used for the purposes stated here and any excess is donated to legitimate charities. FYI, GoFundMe deducts 2.9% + $0.30 per transaction from funds raised.
