Rescues Rock Defense Fund

Tax deductible
Their name is Rescues Rock. For eight years they've fought with only one goal: to save the most at-risk lives in their city, the City Of Angels- the defenseless, discarded, and sickly kittens and puppies who are dumped at over-crowded municipal shelters.

They've bravely fought infectious diseases, a pandemic even, and prevailed for years. Rescues Rock are superheroes who fight for the literal underdogs...and cats!

Rescues Rock now faces its biggest challenge: Malicious legal trouble of the darkest and most dangerous nature.

This Go Fund Me is a way you can help Rescues Rock cover their legal fees moving forward. Rescues Rock's founders spent thousands of their own dollars fighting off an Ex Parte Emergency Preliminary Injunction (they were given just 24-hour notice to appear before a judge) to shut down rescue operations and surrender animals in the rescue's care. The Rescues Rock legal team called it an ambush. The judge ruled in Rescues Rock's favor, but there is definitely more to come from Stephen and Cassandra Amell.

Rescues Rock has been forced to hire attorneys to handle the legal battle, as well as, advisors to manage the attacks in the press so that Rescues Rock can focus on its work supporting City shelters that are so overcrowded at this time they are euthanizing animals for space.

A little about what Rescues Rock is and is NOT...

Rescues Rock is a 501(c)(3), non-profit, community-based, animal welfare, education, and rescue organization. Rescues Rock paperwork to this end is all in order.

Rescues Rock is NOT a kennel.
Rescues Rock is NOT a for-profit pet business.
Rescues Rock does not flip puppies or kittens for money.
Rescues Rock doesn't solicit children to perform manual labor (what?!)

Rescues Rock received a commendation from the Mayor of Los Angeles, Eric Garcetti in 2021 for doing exemplary work saving at-risk animals.

Rescues Rock is an LA Animal Services New Hope Partner and an NKLA Coalition Partner. Rescues Rock works closely with LA City Shelters to get major medicals immediate veterinary care, with special emphasis on puppies and kittens.
Rescues Rock and its vet partners have had great success tackling infectious diseases, like, Parvo, Distemper, Panleukopenia, Ringworm, and FIP.

Rescues Rock does not house all animals in its rescue program at its foster house, BarkPark, or in the Kitten Critical Nursery. Rescues Rock has a fostering and volunteer program. Rescues Rock fosters take in dozens of puppies and kittens once cleared by veterinarians. Some approved, experienced Rescues Rock fosters take on animals while still under veterinary supervision, and kittens/puppies requiring bottle feeding. Rescues Rock fosters also take on nursing mothers and their puppies and kittens.

Rescues Rock's neighbors volunteer, donate, foster, and adopt from this community-based rescue. Rescues Rock volunteers range from age 5 (with parents) to 85. Rescues Rock volunteers socialize kittens and puppies, feed (learn to bottle feed) and clean litter boxes, and scoop poop. They learn the basics of positive reinforcement training. They learn about proper pet care and wellness, pet nutrition, and the importance of Spay/Neuter and vaccinations. Rescues Rock approves dozens of volunteer hour forms each year for middle schools and high schools across Los Angeles. Rescues Rock is a favorite field trip for local Girl Scout Troops who love socializing puppies and kittens under four months of age.

Rescues Rock advocates strongly for spay & neuter and vaccinations. Rescues Rock has very strict vaccination, spay and neuter guidelines to protect the animals in their care to ensure animals are not exposed to endemic viruses rampant in Los Angeles; fosters and adopters sign very detailed contracts to this end.

Rescues Rock advocates for affordable, accessible vet care. Rescues Rock rails against backyard and hobby breeders.

Rescues Rock works with owners of lost pets, trackers, and the authorities to reunite lost pets with their humans, and in this process has thwarted numerous attempted dog thefts. Rescues Rock advocated for a local resident, experiencing temporary homelessness, whose dog was stolen. Rescues Rock flew to NYC to retrieve the beloved, stolen dog, returning it safely to Los Angeles where it was spayed and given back to its owner. That owner has since found housing!

There are many ways you can help Rescues Rock that go beyond donating to this Go Fund Me. Sign up to foster, volunteer or adopt your next four-legged family member from Rescues Rock. You can also go to the Rescues Rock website and donate directly to their operations.

Donations made through this Go Fund Me fundraiser will go to Rescues Rock's general fund, with special attention made to applying these funds to their defense against the lawsuit brought on by Stephen and Cassandra Amell.

Rescues Rock is a 501(c)(3) so donations made may be tax deductible.
