Help in rescuing Nuni to go to a wolf sanctuary

Tax deductible
Hi everyone. I’ve started this go fund me in desperate measures for a sweet wild creature I hold so near and dear to my heart. Please, if you have the time to read this and donate what you can, I’d appreciate it more than words could ever express.

Some of you may know of Nuni, the wolf-dog my former professor rescued and whom I grew a deep and close connection to while living in Colorado. About a year ago, my professor passed away after a long battle of illness after illness, leaving behind Nuni and her home. Since then, her daughter Adra has taken over her home and the care for Nuni. Unfortunately, Adra now has many health issues including a spinal cord injury, which makes it impossible for her to live up in the remote mountains, where Nuni has resided his entire life.

I’ve exhausted all options to see what I could do within my means. It breaks my heart but it’s not realistic at this time for me to be able to take him in. I’ve searched for a new home here in San Diego, with land, to see if I could bring him here with me. Knowing that this is not just any animal to find a home for, I knew even if I did find land here that I could afford, I’d also need to learn how to properly care for a wolf-dog like him and be sure I’d have the time to truly tend to him. The transition of him living in the solitude of the Colorado mountains, where his arctic wolf fur thrived in the snow and winter, would be such a shock for him to be near planes, trains, cars, people and the heat of Southern California. Furthermore, a “dog” like him would not be allowed in CA with the percentage of wolf in him.

With all this being said I’ve spent hours on the phone with different wolf rescues/sanctuaries, starting to feel hopeless because all of them are completely filled and are not able to take Nuni in. Finally, through calling many rescues, I got referred to Drew, the founder of Pack 22 of Mattersville. An incredible nonprofit organization that rescues wolf dogs and works on combating veteran homelessness, PTSD and suicide. It’s a reciprocal relationship where the wolves/wolf-dogs help the veterans to heal, and the veterans, through their volunteering, help save the wolves. Incredibly enough, Drew has land and room for Nuni but it would include needing to fund the build of his enclosure. The funding needed for the materials for the enclosure, and for his food and transportation is $5000.

This is truly Nunis only chance. In a few days, Adra is moving and gives the house and land up to the new owners, leaving Nuni with no home and proper care. We had a plan for him to be adopted, but it fell through last minute. Now we are desperate.

If you can, we’re asking for a donation to help sweet Nuni get the proper home and care he deserves. No donation is too small, truly. Thank you in advance, and know that Nuni thanks you too. I can’t express enough how much this means to me. Thank you.
