Rescuing The Ferry
Hello. My name is Steve Cleary, and I’m on a mission to save this beautiful ex-Sydney Ferry (built in 1947) and keep her gracing the waters of the fabulous Hawkesbury River for years to come, using only power from the sun.
I snatched her from the wreckers jaws in December 2018
by re-floating her after she broke her mooring in a gale and sunk.
You can watch a 12 minute YouTube video on the salvage here. https://youtu.be/vlP7vVdxBkE
This is a "before" picture, taken from the stern just after she re-floated. (Dec 2018)
And a "today" picture, taken from the stairway to the wheelhouse. (Sept. 2020)
The interior is nearing completion and I’m now in the final planning stage of replacing the wrecked diesel engine with an electric Solar/ battery powered system.
Hence the need to raise funds.
Listed below are the big ticket items and
I will be most grateful for any and every contribution.

Doners are very welcome to visit The Ferry on most week-ends, so call in for a coffee, a chat and a look around, but please message the day before, to arrange pickup/water taxi as we're water access only.
Thank you so much for your interest and support.
Here's a 1 minute drone video of the Ferry, taken by my friend Alex Lopez, 4 months after she re-floated.
