Research and Study Funds in Borneo and Bali

Hey everyone, friends and family, I hope you are all doing well. I wanted to reach out in need of additional funds for my research and studies this summer in Indonesia and to ask for all of your help. In just a few days, I will travel to Indonesia for six weeks to study biodiversity and conservation in Bali and Borneo, and to learn a Critical Need Language; Bahasa Indonesian. I will be going with the Program SIT School for International Training study abroad. This program is known to be the original base for the Peace Corps as well as an experiential education program whose goals are to address critical global issues. I am not the kind of person to reach out so short notice for these funds, let alone any funds at all, because I believe that I should work to pay for my own travel as well as apply for scholarships- Which is what I did. May 9th, I was awarded the Benjamin A. Gilman scholarship and the Critical Need Language Award, alongside a scholarship from my University, and the study abroad program themselves. This altogether paid for my study abroad in full and I was more than grateful and excited for my opportunity to travel to the other side of the world and to be a cultural ambassador for the United States. And when I get back, I will finish my own project to promote this scholarship at my University, for other students who need it as well. However, even after these scholarships, I am still struggling to pay for the books, equipment, airfare, vaccines, medical expenses, and more for this trip. I promise you that your funds will go to a student who is eager to learn about the world and to make it a better place, and that I will be forever grateful and use it for only what I need.
