On Tuesday, November 19, 2024, a devastating fire took place in Burnaby apartment, turning his life upside down. He faced thick fumes while evacuating but didn’t think twice about ensuring his neighbour’s safety, helping them evacuate quickly. He barely had time to grab anything—not even a jacket— not even jeans—only wearing shorts and Tshirt out in the freezing cold before the fire engulfed everything he owned.

Sanskar, who had just moved to Canada last year with hopes of building a better future, now finds himself starting over from nothing. This tragic and unexpected event has left him without belongings and his needs.
