Hello Family and Friends!
As many of you know, I am a 2008 graduate of Teen Challenge. For those who do not know my testimony, I was once a seller and addict of meth, in prison and lost in sin when God placed me at Pennsylvania Adult and Teen Challenge. It was there that my chains of addiction and sin were broken and Jesus Christ saved my soul. As stated above I graduated the program in 2008 and started attending Liberty University online and was hired at Teen Challenge as an assistant counselor.
I then met my beautiful wife Mariza in 2011 and we were married in 2012. In 2013 I graduated with my Bachelors of Science in Psychology and in 2015 I graduated with my Masters in Professional Counseling both from Liberty University. I then went on to become a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC). Once a drop out this was all by the grace of God! God has also blessed my wife and I with three amazing boys; Everett (5), Merritt (3) and Colby (4 months as of 10/1).
I have faithfully been serving at Teen Challenge in Rehrersburg, Pennsylvania for over 8 years. I have been working hard helping people recover from the grip of addiction and leading them to a relationship with Jesus Christ, and what a privileged it has been.
We are excited to announce that as of September 2019 I have accepted a new position as the Executive Director of Teen Challenge’s Women Center in Philadelphia. This means a complete life change for our family as we will be stepping out in complete faith into Gods calling on our lives. We will be looking for a new school for our boys, a new church, and ultimately a new home in Philadelphia.
For these past eight years we have lived as a low income family in an on-campus home provided by Teen Challenge. In answering this new call to move to Philadelphia, we will need to purchase a home for our family and will be needing to make the transition to Philadelphia by Spring of 2020.
HERE IS WHERE WE ARE IN GREAT NEED OF YOUR SUPPORT! Unfortunately, as a low income/one income family we did not have any savings for a home and due to the time crunch, we are struggling to reach the amount needed for a down payment and closing costs for a home. I have been working hard at work, mowing lawns and fixing cars on the side, we have been selling things of value, and we have been saving all that we can, but unfortunately it will not been enough. If you know me, you know that I am not a person that likes to ask for help (especially monetarily). However, we know that God has called us to minister to Philadelphia and women struggling with addiction and we would greatly appreciate any help you can offer us so that my family can have a home. The Bible says that we have not because we ask not and it also says for us to carry each others burdens. Because of our great need we are stepping out of our comfort zone and stepping out in faith, believing that with God and your help this financial mountain WILL be moved!
Our Need
We are asking for your support in helping us raise money that will be used for the down payment and closing costs to help make a monthly mortgage payment for our family possible on a ministry salary. I know it is a lot and we know that everyone has their own financial obligations, but we would not be asking if it wasn’t truly a need. Would you please come alongside our family and help in anyway that you feel led to? We would be so grateful for any donation you are able to give as every donation gets us one step closer.
We are also asking for your prayers for vision in this new season, for protection for our family, for the Lords favor and provision for our family and Teen Challenge, for the Lord to use us powerfully, and for a smooth transition for our family, especially for our boys. We thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your support in making this possible for our family. It means the world to us!
