Rest as Revolution: myisha t. hill's Family Trip
Donation protected
Thank you so much for your support - we have reached our goal and are starting to book myisha’s family trip. As a practice of transparency, we will be posting receipts.
Our fundraising efforts were incredibly successful, and we are deeply grateful for your support, & your comments sharing personal experiences.
The Next Steps: Additionally, myisha’s vision of honoring humanity is to go beyond the individual to community. Once myisha has been able to rest and restore, she is preparing to lead (and inviting) us all in participating in an immersive experience: the upcoming CYP Con
This event (both live and virtual) is designed to be much more than a “conference:” with a goal to inform, inspire, support and guide folks who are ready to embody healing in a “heal our way forward family reunion” of sorts.
We are asking our community to help support our event and contribute any amount you can:
2020 propelled myisha t hill to "blue check mark" fame with her Check Your Privilege online presence. As myisha has grown as a leader, her anti-racism work has evolved into humanity-centered liberation work.
Guided by principles such as that of Ubuntu ("I am because you are") and valuing collective wisdom, myisha is embarking upon a new era to heal our way forward.
In order to continue to be a writer, podcaster, life coach, and healer who’s leading a revolution of heart, mind, and soul...
In order to continue her work to awaken others to purposeful passion...
In order to continue to serve as a guide towards personal accountability and intergenerational healing...
myisha now needs an opportunity for rest.
Space. Rest. Time. Mental rest.
In keeping with the spirit of Ubuntu, those of us who have been impacted by myisha's leadership know intimately that we have grown, learned, been seen, and are healing our way forward... because of her work.
In the 2022 Allure article, Why is Exhaustion So Normalized for Black Women , author Alisha Acquaye writes, "Asking for help is often crucial in making the space we need to rest, which is why one vehicle for rest is trust — trust that we can be vulnerable and that someone will take care of us and help shoulder our responsibilities."
The Proposal: myisha and her family have approved a plan to partake in a 7 day road trip to the Grand Canyon. This will allow myisha much needed healing and recuperation time, centering her soul, her human needs, and her partner and children.
The Need: we (members of myisha's community and other co-conspirators) are gathering funds to cover a week-long family trip for myisha, her three kids, and her partner. The costs associated are approximately $7500, which will cover a rental car, as well as food, train transportation, lodging, and activities meant to nurture each of these humans. We are looking to raise funds before the end of June, 2023.
UPDATE:
Thank you for your generous support! The rental car has been procured.
