Rest in Heaven Christina and Colin

This is a gofundme for the surviving daughters and family of Christina McVay and her son Colin. Christina was our best friend since childhood and on behalf of her daughters, we are organizing a gofundme to cover any medical expenses, funeral and burial expenses, and to help her young daughters move forward as best they can after such a traumatic tragedy.

On March 9, Christina and her 6 year old son Colin were murdered in Lancaster, SC. Christina had recently moved to South Carolina from Lawrence, KS, to live with her father. She and Colin were really enjoying the community of Lancaster, and she told us many times how nice and friendly everyone was there.

Christina was a mother to 3 children including Nyasha, Jade, and Colin. She was a beautiful soul on the inside and out, and always met everyone with a smile. Christina was not only a great mother to her 3 children but embraced other youth as her own as well. Young Colin was such a blessing to Christina and she was so excited to add a little boy to her family. Colin was such a sweet boy who loved his mom, dad, sisters, and other family members dearly. He had a bright future ahead of him.

The loss of Christina and Colin to a senseless act of violence has left their family and the communities of Lancaster and Lawrence devastated. Christina’s father was simply trying to help out a young man that he met at church who needed a place to stay. Unfortunately, the young man shot and killed Christina and Colin. The family are devoted Christians who lend a helping hand when needed.

Given this senseless tragedy, our hearts ache for the family of Christina and Colin, and any donations would be much appreciated.
