Repairs of the bragozzo El Sultan

"El Sultan"is one of the last bragozzo in the lagoon of Venice.
The bragozzo is the boat that made Venice, it is part of its history, in fact it was the most common boat for fishing and transport heavy loads around the city from the birth of Venice until the end of the 50's.
"El Sultan" was reconverted to transport visitors along the lagoon of Venice and let them discover the beauty and the history of Venice and its lagoon with a very low impact on the environment.
Unfortunately during the "Acqua alta", the flood that hit Venice in the past November 12th the boat was dameged by the storm.
The keel and the stern of the boat were severely damaged, the rudder and dunnage lost, the motor had to be repaired and the electrical system had to be replaced.
Including the damages to the pier and the costs to rescue the boat the total sum is 24.000 euros.

It is a lot of money that could be repaid working during the year but real troubles came later with the Covid-19 pandemic.
More than the 90% of the reservations for the season were canceled and now this unexpected event is putting a strain on us.

El Sultan è uno degli ultimi bragozzi della laguna di Venezia

Il bragozzo è la barca che ha fatto Venezia, è parte della sua storia. Difatti era la barca da pesca e da trasporto più comune in città dalla nascita di Venezia fino alla fine degli anni '50
"El Sultan" è stato riconvertito per il trasporto dei visitatori della città attraverso la laguna per far scoprire loro la bellezza e le origini di Venezia e della sua laguna in modo sostenibile.

Purtroppo durante l'Acqua Alta che ha colpito Venezia lo scorso 12 Novembre la barca è stata danneggiata dalla tempesta abbatuttasi sulla citta.
La chiglia è stata severamente danneggiata cosi come la poppa. Paioli e timone sono andati perduti, il motore ha dovuto essere riparato e l'impianto elettrico sostituito.
Contando i danni all'ormeggio e i costi di messa in sicurezza la somma totale è di 24.000 euro.

Una cifra considerevole che però poteva essere ripagata durante l'anno ma i veri problemi sono iniziati in seguito con la pandemia di Covid-19.
Più del 90% delle prenotazioni della stagione entrante sono state cancellate e questi due eventi ci hanno messo in difficoltà.
