RESTITUDE
Donation protected
Hi, For my 65th birthday I am fundraising for RESTITUDE, a small Community Interest Company (CIC), based here in Suffolk but which operates nationally.
Restitude supports 3rd party victims of sex related crime, the families left to deal with the broken pieces abuse left behind. shattered and alone.
I know one of those people. She has asked to be anonymous but these are her words......
'During one of the most challenging times in my family's life, we found an unexpected source of support in Restitute. This organisation became a safe haven, a place where I could share our struggles without fear of judgement. It was comforting to connect with a tribe of people who understood our experience - who had lived first hand some of the emotions and challenges. All of me felt welcomed and validated.
I remember receiving a Christmas hamper from them in the post that year. It was not just a collection of items; it was a beautiful reminder that we mattered and were cared about at the worst time in our lives. It brought warmth and joy during a time that felt overwhelmingly difficult.
Additionally, having Cath's expertise by my side was invaluable. She guided me through the process of addressing the inadequate services we had encountered from statutory services, empowering me to voice our concerns effectively. Her support not only provided practical assistance but also gave me the confidence to advocate for my family - to gain the apology and compensation I so needed.
Restitute didn’t just provide us with support; they enveloped us in compassion and understanding at a time we needed it most. Their unwavering commitment to helping families like mine has made a lasting difference in our lives."
I should add here that as well as knowing this very strong lady, I also know Cath, the founder and CEO of Restitude, and have done so for approaching 20 yrs.
I have asked her to add a few words in the comments below.
PLEASE help me with this fundraiser. I understand that money is tight for us all right now but the smallest amount helps very much.
