Restoration Relief- Grand Bahama
Donation protected
Restoration Relief is a government approved “not for profit” entity formed by, Jerry Coleborn, Pete Coleborn and Stephen Crane in January 2021. R&R’s mission is to make a meaningful and ongoing improvement in at least one person’s quality of life each month. This mostly translates to making someone’s home dry and safe.
Most of us are lucky to live in a privileged and secure home but sadly too many families on Grand Bahama live in structures damaged by hurricanes and they lack the resources to fix them.
A group of us contribute to R&R monthly, (one-off contributions also welcomed) to buy mostly roofing materials, paint, and dry-wall to be installed by volunteers and local craftsmen.
Some recipient's homes are in such bad shape that one would think they are only fit to be bulldozed, however, the structure, despite its poor condition, might well be a family’s only “safe place”.
R&R aims to repair roofs, do remedial mold treatment and replace damaged dry-wall to the extent that everyone has a dry place to sleep and a secure area to cook in.
A lot of homes have been repaired by international NGO’s since Dorian but there remain many Grand Bahama homes needing to be restored. R&R has been able to make an ongoing improvement to the quality of life for 40 local families so far but with more funds could help many, many, more.
If you are able to support Restoration Relief with a contribution you will be making a meaningful and ongoing difference to local families.
