Restore a Rock ‘n’ Roll Landmark: Support During Hardship
Donation protected
Hello everyone,
My name is Matti Thompson, and if you've met Bo and Courtney, you've probably heard tales of their wild nieces and nephews (one of those nieces being me!) who have spent countless years during their childhood visiting Inn Bat Cave for "Camp Courtney".
Today, I am asking for your help to save this historic BnB-turned-retreat in Bat Cave, NC, that’s been hit hard by Hurricane Helene. Built in the 1940s as a secluded mountain retreat, this lodge has a fascinating past, including ties to the rock music scene of the late ‘70s and ‘80s when bands found solace here. Its unique history and remote setting make it an irreplaceable part of the community. If you've been lucky enough to visit the property, you know just how special this place can be.
Sadly, the storm caused devastating damage: the mile-long driveway was washed out, basement windows shattered, and the basement ceiling and insulation have been ruined. Repair costs are daunting, covering machinery rentals, tree removal, rock wall reconstruction, and more. With the B&B temporarily closed, any support would help this unique piece of history get back on its feet.
Thank you for helping preserve this incredible part of the community’s legacy, as well as getting Bo and Courtney the help that's so very needed post-storm.
