Restore Angela’s Home from Flood Damage

Donation protected
Have you ever met someone special who gives everything and NEVER asks for anything in return? That’s my best friend Angela Exner, daughter of a North Dakota cattle farmer (that’s says a lot right there), Cancer survivor and a single woman deeply devoted to her Catholic faith. She has spent her whole life serving God and moving around the country taking ministry positions to help people like you and me grow in our faith. Being in ministry is beautiful but we all know it’s not the life style of the rich and famous. After many moves, and always apartment living, she was finally able to take the plunge and buy a home in Fishers, Indiana. She literally put everything on the line to purchase her new oasis, every last penny. In October she received the keys to her new home but it wasn’t move in ready, it needed a lot of work. So she got busy, rolled up her sleeves and spent a month replacing, repairing and renovating that little condo. It was long hours and hard work but she was committed to making it hers! Finally, she moved in on November 26 and we were all so excited for her, she has deserved this for so long. For Christmas she headed home to the family ranch to celebrate the holidays. While away a deep freeze took over the country. On December 26, she got a call from a neighbor that the pipes in her condo burst. We don’t know know for how long but water had been filling her condo. No one knew. It wasn’t until the road out front flooded that anyone realized. So there she was in North Dakota unable to do anything. To add to the dilemma, every water mitigation company was booked up and it would be another few days before the process of drying out and assessing the condo could take place. How would you react if this happened to you? She handled it amazingly putting it all in God’s hands. When she returned home she discovered total destruction. I couldn’t believe the pictures. All the work she had completed a month before, totally undone. She lost treasured personal items, electronics, furniture, ceilings, cabinets, walls, electrical, flooring, and the list goes on. Fast forward to today. It is unlivable and thankfully a local family has taken her in. Remember where I said she used every penny, that’s not an exaggeration. Her insurance company, as we all know, have their bottom line in mind not hers. They severely depreciated everything and are only giving her $18k. Just the building materials needed to restore the basics is $24k not including labor or the cost of replacing furniture and personal belongings. I am asking you all to first pray for her and then if able, to donate any amount to make up the difference. This would relieve so much of the burden and help her to get back into her home. Thank you so much for your time and generosity.

Sincerely, Brooke Nappo
