Restore Dianna's Vision and Hope

Hi! I'm Babs, and I'm here to help my sister Dianna. She, like me, was a single mom much of her life. She struggled to keep insurance and income to maintain her budget and pay her bills while raising her son. Now she is self-employed as a mental health counselor, helping others deal with their own lives.

After her son was grown and left home, she took in Raven, this super-shy rescue poodle, helping to house this displaced pet.

Recently, she was diagnosed with cataracts. This disease of the eyes impairs her ability to conduct her sessions over the computer, as well as making vision blurry, hazy, or less colorful. She found she had trouble reading and doing other everyday activities. Her eye doctor told her that over time, cataracts can lead to vision loss.

But her insurance fails to cover the majority of her expenses for the recommended treatment, cataract surgery in both eyes. Trying to balance her budget and get the surgery she needs is impossible. She is weighing having to give her beloved Raven back to the shelter to save money, which could break her heart.

After Hurricane Helene hit us here in Asheville, NC, Dianna ran a GoFundMe to help my daughters and me recover from the disaster. This really helped save our lives. She is a great person, mother, and sister, and I want her to have her best life. She deserves it.
