Help “Everybody’s Mom” Recover After Losing Everything

September 27, 2024– the day after Hurricane Helene moved through Georgia— the South River rose so high that it came pouring into my mom’s house, filling it about 4 feet high (despite our futile efforts to keep it out) and destroyed everything she and my brother own. They are completely displaced with no bed, furniture, personal care items, electronics, few clothes…

If you know my mom you know that she has spent her entire life giving to and doing for other people. Her house has always been everyone’s home and if she had it to give, it was yours.

if you’ve ever been touched by my mom’s kindness or if you just feel called to help her and my brother get back on their feet during what’s going to be a challenging and long standing recovery effort, we would be so grateful.
