Hi everyone, please read the story of Melissa Williams. She was severely and permanently hurt when an IV shattered her hand causing her to lose two fingers and a large portion of her right hand. Those responsible (Steward Health Care) have failed to help her and shamefully hide behind bankruptcy while living a remarkably lavish lifestyle. She is desperately trying to make ends meet for her and her teenage son and needs help.
This is Melissa's story:
Melissa was born and raised in the heart of Mississippi. Her life's journey took an unexpected turn following a brain injury in 1999. Despite never formally studying art, Melissa found solace and expression through painting during her recovery. Using art as therapy, she began creating visually captivating pieces that resonated with others, leading to exhibitions and sales across Mississippi, Alabama, and Tennessee.
Relocating to Palm Bay, FL in 2015, Melissa expanded her artistic career by creating custom finishes and designs on various surfaces, collaborating with contractors, businesses, and individuals. However, in 2017, a severe medical injury resulting from an IV extravasation caused her to lose two fingers and part of her right hand, altering her ability to work as a custom finisher and painter. Melissa persisted through surgeries and years of adaptation, discovering new ways to continue her passion for painting while coping with chronic pain in the remaining portion of her hand. Her resilience and determination in this journey can be seen in her current works of art.
