Restore Hope for the Cavitts After Tragic Fire

Dear friends, family, and kind-hearted strangers,

On what should have been the happiest chapter of our lives, my wife and I have experienced an unimaginable tragedy. Just days away from completing the renovation of our home, a devastating electrical fire consumed everything we’ve worked so hard to build.

Two years ago, we embarked on this journey to turn our house into a home. Together, we poured our love, time, energy, and savings into restoring a place where we could start our life together. Each corner of the house told a story—the floors we laid down together, the walls we painted with care, the rooms we envisioned filling with memories. We were so close to finishing, with just a few final touches remaining before we could fully settle in and enjoy the fruits of our labor.

But tragedy struck. An unexpected electrical fire swept through the home, leaving behind nothing but ashes. While we are beyond grateful that neither of us were home at the time and remain physically unharmed, the emotional and financial toll is overwhelming. Everything we had—our furniture, personal belongings, treasured keepsakes, and two years of hard work—was lost in a flash.

We just got married two months ago, still in the early stages of building our life together, and this setback has been heartbreaking as we now must rebuild our lives from scratch. We are facing enormous expenses, from temporary housing to replacing essentials, as we navigate how to recover from this devastating loss.

On top of this, I am currently in nursing school, which has made losing everything even more devastating. Trying to stay positive and focused on school while facing tragedy is very challenging.
