Restore Hope for Veteran Bret McKee and his Home

Hi. My name is Brandy Horchak-Jevsjukova and I am writing to tell you about a military buddy of mine who could desperately use your help. A good friend and fellow veteran named Bret McKee was away on military orders for two weeks at the beginning of June 2024. While he was away his world was turned upside down, when he came home to find his house was broken into, burglarized, ransacked, and destroyed.

Many things were stolen, including his 1965 Mustang he restored for many years with his dad (located but damaged), jewelry from grandparents who have all passed on, items of sentimental value from other family members, his 2015 side by side, his solid steel gun safe that housed multiple firearms including his 1911 deployment trophy gun that is engraved, his washer and dryer, TV, all dishes and pots and pans, etc. His clothes and paperwork were pulled from all drawers and tossed all over the inside and outside of the house. Cat feces and raw eggs were spread through the interior of the house while the freezer in the garage was emptied and the meat tossed around.

I am asking you to donate to help him restore his home back to its original state before the burglary occurred. Insurance is only covering so much and will not even payout until the police investigation has concluded. He has gotten estimates to clean the house where blood was also found and maggots hatched however insurance will not pay yet and now the house is deemed uninhabitable. He has lost just about everything that was of value to him and the rest of his things were damaged and destroyed beyond repair. Please help him rebuild his life by donating what you can. The money is being used to just restore what was taken and destroyed. Any money left over will be donated to Will of the Warrior Program to help others. Brett is a proud military member and he, like many of us, have a hard time asking for help, so when he told me what happened, I knew we had to do something. He only needs help to get back to where he was, nothing more!
