Help us restore hot water to the home of an 80 year old community member

We are reaching out to the public for support in raising $2,600 to complete essential home repairs for an 80-year-old client. He is living without hot water, in a home plagued by health hazards. The client has no family involved in his care. We’ve visited his home seven times so far, to carry out intensive cleaning, but his living conditions require urgent repairs to make his home safe and habitable.

Our client has not had hot water in his home since 2020. For four years, he has been cleaning himself with cold sponge baths.

The hot water service urgently needs to be replaced. The service parts have been purchased, but before installation can begin, the old gas line needs to be replaced.

Help we’ve had so far

We’ve already received generous support from two service providers who have paid $1,300 each, but we still need to raise another $2,600 to cover the remaining costs.

Ben at Aquamarine Plumbing and Gasfitting has generously offered to perform the supply and install at a reduced cost due to the client’s circumstances. Ben will remove the old hot water service which will be decommissioned.
