Restore Kaylee's Sight and Mobility: Urgent Surgery Needed
This is Kaylee, she has been with me through 12 years of our lives. She has been my loving and loyal friend and I hers.
Recently her arthritis pain seemed to be increasing and a few days ago everything happened all at once. She wasn't walking much, was wobbly and weak, and when she did walk she showed such stiffness in her back legs. She was discombobulated, standing around as if she didn't know where she was and couldn't see where we were or that we were there with her.
After a worrisome night, we got her in to see the vet where she was diagnosed with pancreatitis, intervertebral disc disease, nearly full cataracts (it had been developing but covered her eyes suddenly), and possible internal infection.
My poor girl is in pain and nauseated. She's now on pain meds, tummy meds, and antibiotics. We're hoping this will help her start to feel better but after that we have a longer, more expensive road to get her back to herself and the joy she used to feel.
We're looking at cataract surgery so she can see again and spinal surgery to save her spinal cord and ability to walk. Her spinal surgery will need to be as soon as possible to prevent damage, perhaps irreparable damage, to her spinal cord.
We're going to do whatever our girl needs to make her feel well and live her life to the fullest forever (well for as long as we possibly can, dogs should live forever though ♥️)
We've had financial difficulties leading up to now and wiped out all the savings we had for the past vet visit and treatments. We want to give her everything but with time being so crucial and the economy what it is, we can't wait to save for this, we need help to get it for her now.
