Restore Little Teddy Murrays Grave
Donation protected
Hi, My name is Moya Sharp from Outback Family History. Over the past two years, we have been restoring the second cemetery at Kanowna, just outside of Kalgoorlie in Western Australia. We have completed the referencing of the whole cemetery and new gates have been installed and new signage. There are 436 people buried here, but there are few headstones. We have selected two poignant graves on our sign board to represent all those buried here.
- The fundraiser for this grave is that of little 'Teddy'. Edward Alexander Beresford ‘Teddy’ Murray died aged 2yrs 8mths, on 25 May 1909, at the White Feather Hospital, Kanowna, from Acute Enteritis & Lobar pneumonia, his father was Albert Edward Beresford MURRAY (Hotel Keeper), and his mother was Edith Annetta nee JOHNSTONE. I have been visiting this cemetery for over 30 years and Teddy's grave which is just inside of the entrance has always had teddy's left on it by visitors.
