Restore Northside's Vandalized Murals
Donation protected
In December 2024, two beloved murals in Northside were vandalized. These murals were part of seven murals that NEST installed over the course of 2023/24 along Hamilton Avenue in Northside's business district. Utilizing City of Cincinnati NBDIP funding, NEST partnered with local organizations and artists to bring beautiful art to public spaces. Julia Lipovsky and Jon Flannery installed their mural at 4024 Hamilton Avenue and Lindsay Nehls installed her mural on the Caracole building at 4138 Hamilton.
NEST intends to pay the artists to restore the murals and then have volunteers apply a protective coating to provide ongoing vandalism & UV protection so these murals can be enjoyed for years to come. We estimate the total cost of restoration and protection at $7000. We have reallocated $2500 in grant funding from the Northside Community Fund, originally intended for future murals, to this restoration project. We are searching for other grant options and invite the community to support this project as well. Thanks for your support!
