Help Restore Ohr Chadash After Hurricanes Helene & Milton
Tax deductible
Congregation Ohr Chadash is a Messianic synagogue in Clearwater, Florida, that has served the Greater Tampa Bay area for over 40 years. Located directly across the street from the Bay, the record-breaking storm surge from Hurricane Helene flooded the building with 8-12 inches of water throughout the facilities--the sanctuary, offices, classrooms, restrooms, fellowship hall and kitchen all suffered extensive water damage. Thankfully, the building did not flood again during Hurricane Milton, however high winds from the second storm broke windows and damaged an air conditioning unit.
Due to cost-prohibitive insurance rates in Florida, the building is not covered by a flood insurance policy; FEMA assistance is not a viable funding option due to pre-existing conditions on the property.
The Ohr Chadash building also hosts three other faith-based non-profit organizations: 420 Church Clearwater, Saint Petersburg Seminary and Yeshiva, and Menorah Ministries. Each of these groups rely on Ohr Chadash's facilities to meet and conduct their ministries.
Money raised will go directly to repairing flood damage, including:
- drywall
- carpet and flooring
- electrical repairs
- restoring the kitchen and restrooms
- replacing windows, furniture, kitchen appliances and supplies
Congregation Ohr Chadash is a registered 501(c)(3) organization and donations made through this fundraiser are tax deductible.
