Restore, Repaint the Blackwell Community Church
Donation protected
We are raising money to repaint the Blackwell Community Church. From a distance the church looks like brick but this is actually a clever design which uses cut wood siding and careful painting to create the look of brick. The church was built in the 1800s and there wasn't enough money to buy real brick so the carpenters used the lumber they had to make the church as special as they could. It has been many years since the church was last repainted. The paint is now faded and flaking and areas of the siding need to be replaced. The church itself is owned by the community and is available for weddings, funerals, church services, or community meetings to anyone that may need it. It is an important historical landmark that is still loved to this day.
