Restore Sherry's Home After Devastating Flood
Donation protected
Hurricane Hone causes flash flooding and destruction to home in Naalehu.
This house, formerly known as the Hobbit House bed and breakfast, is now the family home of an elderly lady, Sherry Mastandrea and beekeeper, Jacob Satterwhite. It is located on Ha'ao Springs Road in Wai‘ōhinu. The flood and rain cut through the bottom of the house, where the Jacob stored his inventory and Sherry stored her family photos, memorabilia and appliances (washer, dryer, kitchen and brand new chest freezer).
Due to an increase in medical bills and having to pay out of pocket for medications, Sherry dropped her hurricane insurance because her monthly expenses became too much for her to afford.
This fundraiser is to help repair Sherry and Jacob’s home after the flooding ripped through the property and pushed dirt through the entire house. The home will need gutted and need new flooring installed and most of the walls replaced. The floors currently have two feet of mud and boulders covering them, brought in by the heavy stream created by the rainfall.
Any donation will help…mahalo.
