Help Stu Heydon See a Brighter Future: Support Surgery and Recovery for Carmel's Music Mentor
For over 25 years, Stu Heydon has been an instrumental figure on the Central Coast, teaching and inspiring children through the power of music. Stu’s unwavering commitment has helped hundreds of students find their musical voice, guiding them toward scholarships to prestigious music colleges and successful careers as professional musicians.

Despite his significant contributions, Stu faces a personal challenge that threatens his ability to continue his life’s work. After contracting Covid-19 in 2019, Stu began to rapidly lose his eye sight, severely impairing his ability to teach and engage with music as he always has. The need for corrective eye surgery is urgent, but financial barriers have made it unattainable.
Your support goes beyond just helping an individual; it ensures the continuation of a mission that has profoundly impacted countless children and the community. Each donation brings Stu closer to regaining his ability to teach, inspire, and transform lives through music.

Stu's exceptional contributions to music and education have been honored with several prestigious awards, reflecting his impact on the community and beyond:
Paul Harris Fellow Award: Recognized for fostering good relations among people through his teaching work, especially with children, highlighting his commitment to community and understanding.

Motor City Blues Lifetime Achievement Award (1996): A testament to his influence in the blues community, celebrating his artistic excellence, dedication to teaching and contribution to the genre.

Canada Blues Hall of Fame (2015): Celebrated for his significant contributions to the blues and its continuance and his devoted mentorship of aspiring musicians.

These accolades underscore Stu's role not just as a teacher, but as a community pillar, enriching lives through music and fostering understanding among diverse groups.
Stu Heydon has dedicated his life to spreading joy and understanding through music. It’s our turn to give back to someone who has given so much. Help us light up Stu’s world by supporting his journey to recovery and allowing him to continue his invaluable work.
We are calling on the community and all who believe in the transformative power of music to support Stu in two critical ways:
1. Raising funds for the eye surgery that Stu urgently needs to restore his vision. Accounting for preliminary doctor visits, logistics, and the cost of the actual surgery this amount is over $5000.
2. Providing financial support during his recovery, ensuring he can focus on healing without the burden of financial stress. Rent for his Carmel recording studio and for his studio apartment comes to around $4000 per month before factoring in expenses like transportation, phone, and groceries. We are trying to raise enough money for Stu to take two months off of work to heal.
$5000 - surgery
$8000 - 2 months rent
$2000 - 2 months necessities
----------------------------------$15000 total fundraising goal

Thank you for your kindness, generosity, and belief in the enduring power of music to create change.
