Restore The Giraffe Murals

My name is Dan Fontes, I was born in Oakland and painted the Giraffe and Zebra murals beneath Oakland's 580 freeway. I've been a practicing artist for 36 years. I need the funds for oil paint supplies, assistant stipends, photography, printing the final poster and a small salary for myself.  Each of the animal figures take two to three weeks to restore.  The plan for this restoration is to bring back the three most heavily damaged murals.  I've already begun restoring the largest figure as seen in the photo above. Origninally painted in 1983 they've held up well. Hopefully, all seven giraffe murals can return by the end of April. This project means everything to me. My murals are my children.
